Chinua Hawk Biography:
Singer, Songwriter, Entrepreneur, just some of the words that can be
used to describe Chinua Hawk. Born and raised in New Jersey, Chinua
considers himself a "citizen of the world." "My music
is for everyone. I listen to everything, all kinds of music, so it
comes through in my writing." states Chinua.
Along with his extensive touring record, Chinua also boasts CD sales
not only in the US, but also in France, England, Japan, Switzerland,
and Canada. Not bad for an unsigned act.
Chinua counts himself very fortunate in his career to have performed
with, Celine Dion in front of a crowd of 30,000 people at Madison Square
Garden in New York City. He has also written songs with Wyclef Jean,
and worked in the studio with producer/rapper Kanye West on rapper Talib
Kweli's song "Just To Get By" just to name a few of his accomplishments.
Chinua Hawk has won the 2003 Heineken Music initiative/ ASCAP Foundation
R&B songwriters Grant, along with his songwriting partner Kwame Viapree
for their song "I Remember You". Chinua's other accomplishments
include winning the Disc Makers Independent Music World Series 2004 beating
out over 1,000 bands with just a guitar player to accompany him. He was
also named the APCA Multi-Cultural Artist of the year 2004 and again
in 2005. Millions heard Chinua's song "Can't Move On" when
it aired on the CBS drama "Joan of Arcadia."
Chris Cauley Biography:
Chris is a 22 year old singer/songwriter out of GA. His passion and soul
and easy charm is so captivating that in his first year on the college
circuit, he was the #1 music act of all 3 showcases he was selected
for and was voted APCA Coffeehouse Artist of the Year. He began writing
songs at the age of 16 and formed an acoustic trio by the name of Broken
Poets. The high school trio awed audiences throughout the state of
GA bringing their tight harmonies and their smooth instrumentation
to the stage. After the three went their separate ways, Chris continued
to pursue a career in music. Since going solo Chris has opened for
many world touring acts including Will Hoge, Edwin McCain, Kevin Kinney
of Drivin' and Cryin', Matt Nathanson, and Motor City Josh and The
Big 3.
